Default Boss Name Coincidence?

Okay, I've just recently bought Nightfall after coming back from an extended break on Guild Wars. And there is something that has got to change. There is a level 28 boss in Nightfall, in Sunward Marches named Acolyte of Lyssa. That's the boss that has the elite skill Avatar of Lyssa.

Now, in January of 2006 I along with several guildies formed the guild named the Acolytes of Lyssa. We thought that was a pretty cool name, being that we were centered around the Mesmer profession. I remember looking in the dictionary to find some word that had a similar meaning to servant or follower, and came up with the word acolyte.

We formed way before even Factions came out, so Nightfall was a hardly a thought in the minds of A-Net at that point. So to say the least, that is just cheap. I can't describe the feeling I had when I first heard of that boss. The feeling that your creativeness had just been copied. That boss name is entirely ripped off of our guild name.

I realize that in the big scheme of things, this is a minute issue. But still, I feel we have the rights to that name. Would a name change to that boss be possible?

Sorry to burst the bubble.

This was posted in the wrong section and they were named Acolyte of Lyssa because of the Elite Skill they carry. It's the same as with the other Avatar skills.

Rights to a name in an online game? Can I slap you into the real world?

XDDDDD.

Read the EULA. Your characters, their names, their items. ALL BELONG TO ANET.

You already accepted that. They can even rename your character if they wan to.

Sorry to break it to you, but there are very few original ideas in the world these days (and "the world" unfortunately includes this forum, but that's another story entirely). If you wish to press the issue, please direct your concerns to Gaile's talk page on the official wiki. Here, however, it will only draw out flames and trolls, and thus, this thread shall be locked now.
